Watch Those Trash Cans!
As these photos (sent to us courtesy of Doug Gawthrop) illustrate, black bears do occasionally wander through the Point. And, their keen sense of smell lures them directly to our trash cans which, to a bear, are like opening Cracker Jack boxes . . . you never know what kind of tasty prize may be inside. Bears and raccoons are not very neat critters either. If you don’t want to have trash or garbage strewn about your property or your neighbor’s, better tie down those trash can lids as securely as you can.
